City-Wide Garage Sale!
Was
held at Ruth Moore Park
on
Saturday, October 6, 2007
(401 N. Morse
Ave. - the spray park on Mississippi by the fire station)
This event
was open to anyone living within the Liberty school district.
The day began
at 9:00am when parents/guardians within the school district showed up
to get things for their families. We needed help unloading the
truck - so they stepped up to help us unload the 28' truck we had
rented. The truck took us several hours to load the night
before - but with the help of everybody - we got it unloaded within
45 minutes.
We had been
collecting all kinds of donations in the days prior and it was
remarkable what we were provided with to bless those in need in
Liberty. A lot of families in Liberty and the surrounding areas
went through their homes and gave what they didn't need anymore to
help someone else.
We
also accepted financial donations - we gave 100% of what was given
to the Liberty Public Schools Social Workers Fund in order to be used
by Liberty Academy and the Public Schools.
Here
are some of the needs met in Liberty on this day.
